The Breaking down Enrollment class provides great discussions on Unconscious Bias, Micromessaging Personalization and Relevance. Dr. Angela nails the important aspects of these topics. Then more useful information is provided in the second session that deepens teacher understanding. Topics on Personalization, Relevance, Facilitation and Motivation helped provide ideas for teachers to deal with retention barriers.

Angela Trego’s workshop on breaking barriers was very informative. She created an open space for meaningful discussions among the participants. The insights gained began to have an immediate impact in the classroom, creating more equitable spaces for all students. I would highly recommend this workshop to teachers looking to create environments in their classrooms that allow all students to succeed.

I’ve had the opportunity to hear Dr. Trego present at two different events and I appreciated the different insights she shared as well as the team activity. She brought awareness of unconscious bias and techniques to remove them in an engaging and insightful way.  She also shared her unique experiences being the sole female on many engineering teams and the strategies she used to be successful which was helpful.

This training really opened up my mind to the influence I have as a school counselor regarding the paths students choose to take educationally and occupationally. I learned the positive power of encouragement for minorities. My perspective was broadened with STEM and its influence. The training was engaging and I had so many “ah ha” moments. Dr. Trego created and taught a brand new course for AIAA to help young and mid-career professionals further their engineering careers.  The course was highly engaging and practical, filled with real-world lessons and examples.  Dr. Trego’s passion shone through, for both the material and helping professionals reach their full potential.

Angela has a plethora of real life experience with an academic resume to match.  She shares her ability to navigate through life’s challenges in a very realistic and organized way.  We thorough enjoyed our time with Dr. Trego!
